Test Drives: 2000 Acura 3.2TL

|
I test drove this demonstrator vehicle a few years ago. For a $36,000 car, it is one hell of a deal. Built on the Accord platform, the TL adds features such as wood-accents, a 5-speed automatic but sequential transmission, HID headlamps, and a higher grade of leather. The competition cannot meet the value that the TL offers. The 3.2L engine is very quite but still capable. The transmission is a very nice feature for those looking for a sport sedan rather than simply a luxury sedan. Moonroof buttons are to the left of the steering column, which is non-conventional. The car also has dual exhausts and sporty alloy wheels. Complaints: real wood would be a nice touch rather than wood accents, and some options such as larger wheels and aluminum accents would complement the sporty character of the car.
