Test Drives: 2000 Audi A6 2.8 Quattro
|
|
The base A6 Audi, with its 2.8L V-6 engine, is a popular choice in Winnipeg. With the revolutionary Quattro system, these AWD sedans are made for markets like Winnipeg. Audi has come a long way since the 5000-Series models. Now, it produces vehicles comparable to the likes of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus. The A6 is a very sizeable car, with plenty of interior room for four occupants. The roof line makes for a car with plenty of headroom, even when equipped with a moonroof. The car is not overly powerful, but those seeking a sports sedan can opt for the bi-turbo. The 2.8 provide a luxurious ride without a lot of pizzazz, something that yuppy wives find quite okay. Complaints are few but noticeable. The moonroof creates a lot of wind buffeting when open; there does not appear to be much noise reduction techniques; the seats are somewhat flat. In the end, I would conclude that if Audi makes a good profit on each A6, then it should be a cash cow for the brand. This car sells itself.
