Test Drives: 1999 Jaguar S-Type 3.0

Jaguar's latest sedan attempts to take aim at the Lexus GS, BMW 5-Series, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans. After driving the 3L V6 version, I was disappointed. The interior seems very "feminine" in its design with light-coloured wood trim and its curves and lines. The wood on the steering wheel is too slippery. The engine is not overly capable and is very loud. I like the parking-aid device though, not for its intended purpose but just to hear the beeping.
