Test Drives: 1997 Jaguar XK8 Coupe
|
|
What a great car! The Coupe drives quite differently than the convertible. The coupe is a very rigid and tight grand touring vehicle, compared to the drop-top, which is more for show. The XK8 has a great engine combined with an excellent exhaust, which give the car the purr (and grunt) confirming that this is a Jaguar. Ergonomics are acceptable (this IS a Jaguar) considering it is a sports car. Plenty of wood trim around the dash and steering wheel. No moonroof is offered in the coupe in an attempt to maximize rigidity. It's probably better the moonroof was opted out, otherwise it would be difficult to fit comfortably inside. If you want a car with a lot of character that lives up to its name, the XK8 Coupe is a good choice.
